Read the variance, not just the total

Overall that’s +75 units on the season. It’s also a reminder of how first basket markets actually behave: a 0% May on a 4 pick sample and a 35.7% August on 14 picks are the same model, not two different ones.

This is a long-odds market. Hit rates in the teens can still clear a profit because the prices are big, and a cold month is normal rather than broken. Small monthly samples swing hard in both directions, so weigh the full 140 pick log over any single month. Past results don’t predict future ones.
