Outlier is the better pick if you want a native phone app, a seven-day free trial, or college basketball coverage. StatsBench is the better pick if you want player prop research across more leagues, esports included, with a free tier that covers every one of them.
That is the short version. Below is the long version: price, leagues, data depth and odds tools, plus where each product genuinely wins. Prices and features were checked on November 1, 2026.

Outlier alternatives: how the pricing compares
StatsBench is cheaper at the top end. Its Pro plan runs $34.99/mo or $299/yr, while Outlier’s most expensive listed tier is $79.99/mo on its website and $359.99/yr on the App Store. Both entry plans start at $19.99/mo.
Outlier’s own numbers need a footnote. Its site lists Premium at $19.99/mo, Premium+ at $29.99/mo and Pro + React Live at $79.99/mo, each billed upfront annually. Its App Store listing shows Premium at $199.99/yr, Premium+ at $299.99/yr and Pro at $359.99/yr, with in-app purchases listed at $99.99 for Pro monthly and $999.99 for Pro yearly. Those sets do not agree, so read the checkout screen before you commit.
StatsBench keeps it simpler: two plans, monthly or yearly, nothing weekly. Premium is $19.99/mo or $199/yr, Pro is $34.99/mo or $299/yr. Two coupons are live while they last, YEARLY40 for 40% off a yearly plan and FOREVER25 for 25% off a monthly one, and the discounted rate stays locked while you stay subscribed.
Price only matters next to coverage. A $19.99 plan that covers every league beats a cheaper one that covers three.
Sports and esports coverage: which leagues do you actually get?

StatsBench covers 19 leagues. Outlier’s App Store listing names 13: seven US leagues and competitions, plus six soccer leagues. The gaps are esports and the second tier of European soccer.
- StatsBench, US sports: NBA, WNBA, NFL, college football, NHL, MLB.
- StatsBench, soccer: Premier League, EFL Championship, La Liga, Serie A, Bundesliga, Ligue 1, MLS, Champions League, Europa League.
- StatsBench, esports: CS2, League of Legends, Dota 2 and Valorant player props, plus the First Blood and Pistol Lab research labs.
Outlier’s list stops at the six soccer leagues and does not mention esports. It does include NCAA basketball, which StatsBench does not cover. If college hoops props are your main market, that is a real point in Outlier’s favor.
You can check the coverage before paying anything. The NBA props preview and the CS2 props preview are both free to open.
Data depth: hit rates, matchups and projections
Both tools show how often a player has cleared a line. The difference is what sits next to that number.
StatsBench pairs a hit-rate chart and game log with an SB Score and a projection on every prop, then adds defense analysis, depth charts and injury reports on the paid plans. Team matchups with full head-to-head history come with Pro, along with the MLB labs for strikeouts and home runs. Those labs are matchup research: pitch mix against whiff rates, opponent strikeout vulnerability, recent K% form and live lines.
Outlier’s App Store listing describes “Supporting Stats” for how a player has performed against prop lines, “Trending Insights,” and player-specific notes such as how someone has done against a power-ranked defense or without a key teammate. It also sells a line movement tracker, with the movement charts limited to its Premium+ and Pro tiers.
Neither company publishes an accuracy figure, and neither should be treated as a picks service. Both are research desks. If you are still mapping the category, our roundup of player prop research tools covers what separates them.
Odds comparison and +EV tools

StatsBench shows a best price across 30+ sportsbooks, DFS apps and exchanges and puts a +EV percentage on every prop. Outlier advertises odds comparisons and line movement tracking but does not state how many books it covers, so there is no honest number to line up against the 30+.
On StatsBench that +EV figure sits on each prop in the player view, and props can be sorted by Best EV. It applies to US sports and soccer; esports props carry no EV number. An expected value edge is a long-run idea over a large sample, never a promise on one bet. If you want to run the arithmetic yourself, the free EV calculator does the same work.
Outlier takes a different route. Per its App Store listing, its +EV feed, sharp book odds, arbitrage, middles and boosts all sit inside the top Pro tier. StatsBench’s plans list no arbitrage or middles tool at all. If those are what you are shopping for, Outlier is the one selling them, at Pro pricing.
One more gap worth knowing: StatsBench shows PrizePicks and Underdog prices next to the sportsbook lines, which matters if you play pick’em. Outlier shows Underdog among its book logos and lists a PrizePicks EV calculator, though the depth of that support is not stated. We compared a different pick’em-friendly tool in StatsBench vs Props.Cash.
Ease of use: apps, free trial and time saved
Outlier has native iOS and Android apps and a seven-day free trial. StatsBench is web only, has no app, and advertises no trial. Its interface works in a phone browser, and the free plan is how you test it.
The free plans are not the same size. Outlier’s no-account access gives 3 NBA insights and 3 popular bets per sportsbook, the same for NFL, plus calculators. StatsBench’s free plan gives daily cheatsheets for every league, one full match deep dive per day, hit-rate charts and game logs for every player, the Sharps feed of tracked Polymarket wallets, the Bet Tracker, the calculators and the Discord.
That is the trade. Outlier wins on a home-screen icon and a week to poke the paid product. StatsBench wins on how much you get before you pay a cent.
Where Outlier is the better choice
Four honest reasons to pick it:
- Native apps. iOS and Android, if you want research in an app rather than a browser tab.
- A free trial. Seven days, which StatsBench does not offer.
- College basketball. NCAA basketball props appear in Outlier’s listed coverage and not in StatsBench’s.
- Arbitrage and middles. Sold on its Pro tier. StatsBench lists neither feature.
Where StatsBench is the better choice
Four reasons, and they cover most of what a prop bettor does every night.
- More leagues, esports included. 19 leagues across six US sports, nine soccer competitions and four esports titles.
- A free tier with real depth. Daily cheatsheets for every league, hit rates and game logs for every player, no card required.
- Prop Finder. Filter 10,000+ props a day in season and save a setup for later. Here is how prop finder tools work.
- First Basket models. NBA and WNBA. The only record we publish is the NBA one: +118 units and 36% ROI over 271 picks in 2025-26, a frozen forward test at the best available closing price. Past results do not guarantee future ones, and first-basket bets are long shots that lose most of the time.
Every pick we post is graded in public on the track record page, losses included. Premium is $19.99/mo and Pro is $34.99/mo, with YEARLY40 and FOREVER25 live while they last. The free plan at statsbench.com is the no-risk way to see the boards first.
Verdict: which should you use?
Take Outlier if you want a phone app, a trial week before paying, college basketball, or arbitrage and middles on the top tier. Take StatsBench if you want prop research across more leagues, esports included, a free tier you can actually use, and a best price across 30+ books and pick’em apps at a lower top-end price.
Plenty of bettors will end up using both. A trial tells you whether Outlier’s app fits how you work, and a free StatsBench account answers the same question about its boards. Neither tool is a picks service, and neither removes variance. Bet within your means, 21+, and if it stops being fun, the National Council on Problem Gambling has help.

Frequently Asked Questions
Is Outlier worth it as a prop research tool?
Depends on what you need. Outlier has native iOS and Android apps, a 7-day free trial and college basketball coverage, and it puts its +EV feed, arbitrage and middles on the top Pro tier. Its website and App Store prices do not match, so confirm the number at checkout.
What is the cheapest Outlier alternative for player props?
StatsBench Premium at $19.99/mo matches Outlier’s entry price, and its top Pro plan is $34.99/mo versus $79.99/mo on Outlier’s site. If price is the deciding factor, StatsBench also has a free plan with daily cheatsheets for every league, so you can test it before paying anything.
How does Outlier compare to OddsJam or Props.Cash?
We do not publish claims about tools we have not verified, so run the same checklist on each: price, leagues covered, whether esports is included, how many books the odds comparison covers, and whether a free tier or trial exists. That five-line comparison will tell you more than any single review.
Does StatsBench have a mobile app like Outlier?
No. StatsBench is web only and works in a phone browser. Outlier ships iOS and Android apps, which is a genuine advantage if you want the tool on your home screen.
Can I use both StatsBench and Outlier?
Yes, and some bettors do. Outlier’s trial is a low-cost way to test whether its app fits your workflow, and a free StatsBench account shows you the boards across 19 leagues with no card required.
