How are CS2 map 1 kills props priced?
Books start with the rounds they expect on map 1, then adjust for the player’s role and the opponent. Kills happen inside rounds, so a 13-11 map hands everyone more chances than a 13-5 blowout.
Role does the rest of the work. An entry fragger takes more first duels than a support player or an AWPer holding a long angle. Map choice matters too, since sightlines and utility decide how many fights happen at all. The veto (ban and pick order, explained here) decides which map you’re actually betting.
The economy sits underneath all of it. Pistol rounds at 1 and 16 shape the next few buys, and eco rounds hand out cheap kills. The CS2 Pistol Lab shows both teams’ pistol-round rates if you want that piece of the read.
One structural detail gets missed: map 1 is a single map. There’s no map 2 to smooth out a quiet start, and players have far fewer recorded map 1 games than total games. That’s why kill props often rest on tiny samples.

Every row reads 60%, and there’s a reason for that. The free cheatsheet surfaces props in a 50 to 60% hit-rate band, so this is a filtered view rather than the full board. The CS2 props preview shows the same shape across a slate: line, hit rate and best available price, no account required.

Same line, three different prices
Look at the four kills lines again. All four sit at 13.5 kills with a 6-of-10 hit rate. The prices are nowhere near identical.

Convert those to break-even rates and the spread shows up. A -118 price needs about 54.1% to break even. -128 needs 56.1%. -133 needs 57.1%. Same number, same hit rate, three percentage points of difference in the rate you need.
Two props with identical hit rates can be very different bets, because price is half the equation.

Price isn’t the only input, to be fair. ZEDKO at -133 may carry a bigger role, a faster team or a map where he takes more duels. The mistake is judging the prop on 60% alone. And if you hold only one sportsbook account, you’ll often get a worse number than the best price in the table. That’s the argument for shopping around.
Why a 6-of-10 sample is thin
Ten games is a short lookback. One extra kill in one map moves the percentage by a full 10 points, so the same 6 of 10 can come from a player who is genuinely above the line and from a player who caught two long maps.

Rosters and map pools also move during a season, and the veto changes which map 1 you’re actually betting. The opponents inside those 10 games won’t all be the same quality. Liquipedia’s Counter-Strike pages are a useful place to track roster changes.

Kills and headshots are not the same market
Kill props track how often a player gets into fights. Headshot props track how those fights end. TMKj carries both a 13.5 kills line and an 8.5 headshots line in the snapshot above, and Junyme’s headshot line sits at 6.5.
Headshot numbers sit lower and swing harder. Two won pistol duels can clear a 6.5 line inside three rounds. Kills move with rounds played, so they’re steadier across a map.

How to research a CS2 kills prop in five steps
Run these in order, before you bet.
- Confirm the map. The veto decides map 1, and most of your read is map-specific.
- Pull recent games on that map type, not just overall form. Kill numbers shift with the map.
- Check the round count. Fast maps and blowouts shrink the kill ceiling. Close maps push every line up.
- Write your own number first, then compare it to the posted line and the best price. Doing it in that order keeps you honest.
- Scan the other four players in the server. Kills are shared, and the cheapest price isn’t automatically the best bet.

Three mistakes to avoid
- Betting a hit rate without the price. 60% sounds strong until you see the break-even rate you’re paying for it.
- Mixing samples. A player’s full-series kill average is not a map 1 number, and treating it like one hides the variance.
- Ignoring the rest of the server. Kills get split five ways, so one player’s ceiling often caps another’s floor.

Kill props settle in about 40 minutes. Variance is loud, and a 6-of-10 player can still miss four maps in a row. No hit rate promises a return.
