Why identical hit rates produce different edges

Edge compares your estimated probability to the price the book is charging. Ruler’s row shows 60% hit and a slightly negative edge because -139 already demands roughly 58% to break even, and the fair estimate lands under that. Bdd’s row shows the same 6/10 at -125, where break-even sits near 55.6%.

Step 2: convert every price to a probability

Before you compare anything, put all prices on one scale. American odds hide how much you’re paying. Implied probability doesn’t.

Quick reference for the range you’ll see on LoL kills props:

  • -105 needs about 51.2% to break even
  • -125 needs about 55.6%
  • -139 needs about 58.2%
  • -147 needs about 59.5%
